My Opinion on the recent recruitmnent of MOE School Teacher.

I am glad that they started recruiting teachers with life/working experience. It is very important for a teacher to have that kind of experience and knowledge these days. Students, in the midst of this marvel of discoveries, have many ways to acquire learning from many sources of information that will shape their future, so teachers must be knowledgeable and have that kind of experience to share with them.

Teachers should be ready to know more than the facts of a subject; we should understand how facts and ideas interrelate, and what they mean for truly understanding the subject. A knowledgeable teachers can better notice those students with difficulties and find opportunities for a meaningful learning. Teachers who are less knowledgeable in the subject, may avoid presenting critical material if they are uncomfortable with it, and their students will not have the chance to see the whole picture.

Teachers with working experience should have the knowledge about the subject they teach and should be able to present it as dynamically and are better prepared to answer all kinds of questions about what they are going to teach.

I hope that they are joining the educational field with passion to teach, not solely for the monetary reason. Without the right attitude to teach, the students will not be able to benefit, I think most of you will know what I mean.
